Gary, I'm catching up. I'm very interested in what you end up with. The 1700 came out of the donor Sonett today. It will go into my '67 96 after clean up, new gaskets, maybe new oil pump. I'm considering a narrowed Sonett radiator. A friend here has a '69 95 with a mild built 1500 with weber 2-barrel and MSS exhaust. He's running a Sonett radiator that is just a bit too wide, but doesn't seem to have any 'hot' problems, though we don't get quite the temps, or the humidity you have. Is it possible that air exit from the engine compartment could be a problem? Seems that there isn't much provision for the air to get out after passing thru rad and over engine. Saab did do the louvers at the back-each side of the hood for better heat removal.
