I think your dealer is wrong. Flushing the transmission is more important than flushing the engine. At least the engine oils are compatible, whereas I don't think the synth gear oil is compatible with the petroleum oil which is now in the tranny. The only reason for flushing the engine is if you've got sludge build-up, which the synthetic oil could dislodge.
