Oil Change, (dare I mention it.........)

Hi
I have read lots of posts on the board but still have a question. What Oil should I use? Synthetic or mineral?
Here's the deal....
96 900 2.0 non turbo 90,000 miles, cruise 50 miles per day, 32 mpg at present, almost no city driving thankfully, very small oil drip - one or two drips per night, no extreme conditions ie no freezing, summer boiling or towing anything, engine presently full of Castrol GTX 10W40
I need to do an oil change, approaching 10000 miles.
Is my car too young for synthetic?
Do I need it anyway? (Seems to be great stuff from what I have read.)
If I do then I see that many of you recommend Mobil 1. Checked their website and they recommend 10W30 for higher mileage vehicles (are 90000 miles high?) and 0W40 for European cars which a lot of you also seem to like.
Next question, do I need to do a flush before adding synthetic and if I do is it going to shift something and make me start leaking? On that subject will synthetic make me more likely to leak regardless of whether I flush??Actually many of these topics have been mentioned on the Mobil 1 website but I am more interested in what you people have to say.
Thanks in advance.
Ed.
