No, as I wrote, BUFO is stamped on both the middle and right bolt.
One of my suppliers call the bolt I got "made by FEBI". That bolt is identical to the Saab OEM bolt that is pictured to the right.
The way I understand it is that FEBI is an aftermarket supplier of auto parts, just like Scantech.
That doesn't mean they manufactures the part, but finds it sometimes here sometimes there and sell it as their own.
They might very well have found and tapped into the supplier of Saab OEM bolts and are selling them as their own, but you cannot see it on the bolt that it is made by FEBI.
We can go on and on about this subject, but deep inside I beleive that the new bolts (middle and right) are made of shitty cheap steel and Saab is struggling to figure it out and fix it one or another way.
I see absolutly no reason for why they switched bolt style in 97, but a weird quinkydink is that when the swap happened in 97 the suggested retail price of the bolt went from almost $10.00 a bolt down to about $4.00.
Isn't that strange that a high quality bolt for roughly $10.00 that didn't really have any problems for years and years gets replaced by a $4.00 bolt and suddenly Saab have problems with leaking head gaskets?????
