The pump is a very well built unit, it holds six liters, and the pickup tube for going down the dipstick is a metal coil covered with plastic, so will hold up to whatever hot oil you stick it in. I got it for 36 bucks plus shipping from Jerry B. Leach Co. They have a website, you can order online, or call their 800 number and possibly get a better shipping rate. Lots and lots of positive feedback about it on Fred's Volkswagen TDI site. The TDI's are truly a PITA to get under, very low and have a skid plate, so these oil suckers are popular with this crowd. Also popular with boaters, due to little room in engine compartments. They really do suck the crankcase dry, I parked the car sloping down the drive, to get the oil in the front of the engine under the dipstick tube, and got a full 4 1/2 quarts, which is the total fill amount for the car.
