After months of procrastination, I finally got done with the prototype AUX input for my NG900. I hooked it up, and IT WORKS! :-) No, it's not iPod specific, as I use a Rio, and it does not control the unit. It simply provides a "clean" source input for your "extra" audio.
It involves hacking the CD changer wire. Therefore, one would need to have the normal Clarion headunit and CD changer in the trunk, glove box, under the seat, wherever. With a Double pole, double throw (DPDT) switch, one may select CD, or switch to AUX - MP3, Satellite radio, portable DVD.
Unfortunately I do not have it "installed" as I used a spare cable. That was the reason for prototype; wanted to make sure it worked. The good news is the test was successful. Now, I will look to hack the actual wire, and decide the best place/finish for it. I documented the process, and will post when I get it written up. I may make up some extras if there is interest, but will post the complete details either way.
More to follow... Thanks!
Sean
