to teach her? I mean here in Europe, the overwhelming majority of cars are manual trans. Everyone learns on a standard transmission; it can't be that hard.
Take her to a parking lot, and take it nice and slow. I imagine it can be somewhat embarassing to be an experienced driver and have to start from scratch, but it will be worth it.
It's really not something that reqires skill.
I'm telling you- every imbecile with a driver's license in Europe can do it. I'm sure your wife will have no problem if you take it slow.
Remember that traffic and road conditions in the U.S. are also much more favorable for manual trans than in Europe. I still am unable to understand why auto trans. is the norm over there..
