I installed MB Quart component 6.5's in the doors. You have the option on those of mounting the tweeter on a plastic bridge that can clip on to the woofer, I went with that as opposed to drilling or cutting. The wires are already run for you, they are on the right side of the radio behind the panel. You can check the saab audio guilde for removal of the glovebox and this panel.
I am an audiophile. In other words, an audio purist. I kept my tweeters close to my woofers to avoid phase problems. You can buy components and mount them in the dash, the distance from your ears to the dash and your ears to the woofers is really close, it may sound good. You could build some kind of mounting board to go in the 3.5 holes in the dash and then put your tweeters in there.
The doors are a pain in the ass to get into the first time. When you do, check the audio page on this site and BE CAREFUL! You can do all of this yourself if you are patient. There are a lot of options, feel free to bounce any questions towards me.
