There will be a crossover for every COMPONENT speaker you put in. If the low and highs come from a differant speaker and they are not attached (coaxial) then they will come with a seperate crossover. Two front speakers = two crossovers.
I am assuming you mean a crossover after the amp. In my car there is an electronic crossover before my amps that sends everything below 100hz to one amp, and everything above 100hz to another amp. After the amp on my highs, they go into the crossovers that came with my MB Quarts. My corssovers are in the door since I have both the woofer and tweeter in the door. If you plan on putting the tweeter in the dash, put the crossover under the panel on the right hand side of the radio.
Yes there is a seperate sensor (remote) wire that is a part of the DIN connector for your lows. It does not supply very much power though. It is enough to turn on my amps, but now enough to power my active crossover (the one before the amps) (speaker crossovers need no power). As long as everything has a seperate power wire and the sensor (remote) wire just trips a relay, you are fine. If its your only souce of power, it proabably will not work. If if does not supply the juice you need, you can get power by tapping into any fuse that turns on and off with the key.
Mounting an amp under the seat will be tricky. There are heating/AC vents under there. If you have power seats, forget it. If you have heated seats, be careful not to damage them during the install. They are fragile to things like knees, arms, elbows, tools, being jabbed into them from the top. I mounted mine to the back of my back seat. My amp is pretty huge though. I have heard that small amps can mount behind the glovebox. I have though maybe you could mount one to the underside of the black cover that goes over the trunk space and lifts with the rear door. I think it has enough support, but I wasn't going to chance it with my adcom.
Make sure your ground wire is connected to a good place, bad grounds = hum and whine. Buy good wire. Get the largest power wire you can afford within reason. Don't worry about the sensor (remote) wire, it just trips relays. Buy good speaker wire. At least get the Wal-Mart home theatre wire. I use Audioquest type 4 speaker wire, but thats me.
have fun!
