Well, it's obvious to me what happened because I've "been there done that, got the t-shirt" yadda yadda.
Engine compartments these days have lots of electronics and sensors. You may have knocked some wiring loose or gotten a connector wet. Do a thorough inspection of all the connectors and see if any are loose or filled with water. Don't be afraid to unplug things, spray a little WD-40 on em, or dry them out. You'll "get to know" your engine! (And it certainly beats paying someone else $75/hour to do it.)
The main ones to look at are the connectors near the back of the engine just under the black cover. They point UP and fill with water easily (ask me how I know). Also, the ABS modules are not known to be waterproof. If they get wet your odometer or tachometer will go wacky and the ABS light will come on. (but that's not your problem).
As for the "check engine" light. I'm not sure pulling fuses with the ignition turned ON is a good thing. Also, Denny has a Viggen which has a different 2.3L engine than yours so the fuse numbers might be different. Sometimes check engine conditions will go away by themselves once the problem (wet wires, bad connections) are rectified.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out... Sometimes just letting the engine "dry out" is a good remedy.
