Jason, Saab dealers have suspension "issues". My wife ran over a curb in her 99 9-3 SE, and bent a rim and blew out a tire. Got a new rim and 4 new tires (was tired of the OEMs), but the tire dealer (Autotire) couldn't align the front suspension as the dealer refused to divulge the specs.
OK, so took the car to the dealer for an alignment. The dealer announced that all 4 corners of the car were out of alignment, and could not be put back into alignment due to suspension damage. Suspension damage. My wife hit the curb with the left front wheel, so if there was any suspension damage, it would be to the left front corner only. How all four corners could have obtained suspension damage is a mystery.
Here's my opinion. Saab engineers designed a great suspension system that GM's bean counters in Detroit messed with to bring down costs. In doing so, they either a. ended up with a suspension that breaks, or b. ended up with a suspension impossible to adjust correctly, or both. There are alot of comments on this board regarding bent rims, alignment problems, suspension issues, etc. Sounds to me like we're all paying the price for GM's notorious stinginess.
