I'm in Greenville SC, so we've got about the same weather as you (95 degrees and feels like 95% humidity).
Formula 1 is a great product. 3M and Llumar also make similar high end products. I have a 4 year old application and it is still perfect. Lifetime warranty on the metallic films and they're worth EVERY penny for the good stuff.
Professional installation is mandatory IMHO. Good ones will be able to do the rear in one piece. I don't know if Saabs have the rear defroster grid glued onto the inside of the rear window, but for cars that do, that's a concern also. Removing the film can remove the grid :o(
My cell phone has little noticble reception degredation. Valentine One also operates just fine. The metallic film will reflect & scatter LIDAR, but rearward isn't the threat axis with laser anyway (the cops aim at the front of your car). Don't know about auto-dimming rearview mirrors - that might affect sensitivity & operation of those.
Sorry for the novel
