on a 30K service, and when you ask them to do what the service manual states to be done, it's suddenly almost $200.00 more.
That's a nice tactic to get you in through the doors.
To be honset, some customers are also to blame for this way of business.
They call around to several shops to get the CHEAPEST service, not the BEST service.
And since the shop wants their business they lowball the estimate to get them in and go from there.
Our shop have a difficult time to compete with service pricing because of all the parts and fluids that we replace. But also, we don't want the customers that only go for the lowest price.
A dealer though, you would think that the procedures are the same all over the coutry, even though the price would differ a little bit depending on what area they are in.
