Sometimes a manufacture makes just the soft part available, othertimes one gets a new piston and with the soft parts installed. Try eeuroparts and see what they have. Or you get a new MC assy. You can install a MC without needing to bleed the whole system. But it is easier with worn pads. Install the MC with the brake line swage nuts loose, then fill the reservoir, having put a lot of rags under the MC. So the lines are loose and will want to leak. Let the fluid seep through the fittings. Pump the brakes a couple of time to hurry the process up. Now tighen down the fittings. Now push the caliper pistons back into the calipers by applying pressure to the pad backing plates. This will create a reverse flow to remove any air that is trapped. Works for me, but something that I have not had to do for 25 years. :)
Ypu might be better off with a partner. Fittings loose, pump, fittings tight, release. The reverse stroke might be trying to create a negative pressure. Don't forget to pump the pads back to the rotors before driving!
Often a MC bore can simply be cleaned up with some wet/dry sand paper, unless there is deep pitting.
I think that my suggesting of pumping until the brakes get a 'hold', then observing that the brakes do not seem spongy is defintative. If the brake petal was going to the floor because of air etc, it would not ever be able to fell solid, so if you get it feeling solid once, there is no air in the sytem to expain the petal travel.
