through the R&D required to manufacture a jet that is "flawless". Check engine lights and strange noises at 40,000ft are enough to make you soil yourself. Obviously the precision that is used in manufacturing aircraft is on a different level than that used in manufacturing an automobile.
SAABs in general are not unreliable. Owners who don't educate themselves about their cars and do proper maintenance get what they deserve. In other words, you can't treat a SAAB like a Honda and expect it to keep on ticking.
