Saab Aerospace builds the Saab 2000 for the commuter market. They have a joint venture with BAE to build the JAS-39 Gripen (lightweight, 4th generation fighter). As an aviator, I always found aircraft tolerances to be better than cars for obvious reasons. However, aircraft, even relatively simple small Cessnas and Pipers, have redundancy built into their systems that only recently arrived in cars.
