Had no synchros in 1st and second, and worn ones in 3rd and 4th... perfect beginners car, with a top speed of 60 mph (we clocked 68 once, on a stopwatch, because the speedometer was vibrating all over), 12 mpg, no power steering, drum brakes, sharp metal interior... and the coolest thing was it started with a crank in the bumper.
It was great fun to be driving a machine that was older than you were, and I certainly was never tempted to drag race (60 hp). I'm keeping my eye out for another leaky, finnicky British car to keep me busy... I miss that feeling.
Best,
Lutfisk
