Hi Mary, Not to try to scare you, but I got the P0170 code on my 2000 9-3 at about 62,000 mi last summer. Indy shop reset light and asked me if I used premium gas. Light came back on about 60 miles later. Indy shop replaced one O2 sensor, light came back on about 60 mi later. Shop replaced other 02 sensor, light came back on about 60 mi later. Shop replaced DI casette, light came back on 60 mi later. I bought code reader and started tracking and resetting CEL myself. It would always come on after about 60 mi with P0171. After a few weeks I was a believer that something was still not right. Upon indy's recommendation of what they would replace next, I swapped my air mass meter with the one on my wife's 2001 9-3 (it's nice to have two Saabs). Light went off and stayed off, but my wife's car started running poorly at startup and her CEL came on. So, I bought a new air mass meter for $120 and put it in her car. Now both are fine. Cost me lots of $$, so I hope you have a mechanic who's good at diagnosing these on the first try, or you have another 9-3 to swap parts with.
