Andrew,
I bought my 1999 9-3Se with 48,000 miles a few months ago. I have done a complete tune-up, all filters, replace several dry cracked air hoses and have run techron fuel cleaner with 93 octane for a month now. The car has a noticable difference in power than when I bought it. I am not sure messing with the boost is worth the hassle and danger of stressing the rings and pistons, etc. I am also getting decent gas mileage now.
Besides, my summer car is a Porsche, so my expectaions of power and handling are different in the Saab. I have to say I do find the Saab super comfortable, plenty of power, and had very elegant styling.
Iv'e been restoring and fixing cars for 25 years and I have to say I am impressed with the engineering involved in the Saab.
Take a look at the photos on the attahced link if you like.
Jim
