I just test drove a '99 9-3 SE with about 66K on it. Beautiful car, outward appearances lead me to believe it is in very good shape. When I first started it up, I noticed the check engine light was on. The salesman didn't seem concearned about driving it, so we proceeded. I thought maybe it could just be one of those lights that manufacturers put in to get you in for a maintinence checkup. On the test drive, it seemed to run great until I put my foot down fairly hard. When the turbo was about to kick in, it cut out, and took off again. Just like there was a dead spot. Still, I really liked the car. The dealer said they would have it looked at and call me when it was taken care of so I could take it for another drive. My question is, is this something I should be concearned about? I like the car, but it is at the top range of my budget, and I really can't afford any costly repairs on it anytime in the near future. Any feed back or good questions to ask would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
