My steering wheel ended up a tad to the right too after my Kic brace was installed. I suspect it is due to pushing the steering rack up, down, whatever to get all the part properly installed. Causing it to pull slightly out of the drivers side steering rack mount. This will move the rack and the back of the front tires to the right and the front of the tires to the left. To compensate, it is necessary to turn the steering wheel slightly to the right.
As to the answer to your question, no it should not be necessary to get an alignment done, moving the rack moves both tires equally and so shouldn't affect toe in. I know I'm not going to pay for an alignment unless I see uneven tire wear or the car doesn't want to go straight any more.
I agree on the handling improvement too. Well worth the expense to install the rack brack and sway bar. Now I'm debating the 6 point sub frame brace though I rarely drive that car very hard (I have a 9-5 Aero for that).
