Thats what i was really looking for... what is the amount of "dirty" coolant left in the system after I drain everything. I can calculate the rest quite easily...
So what it sounds like is that i will do this:
1. Drain what I can from system. (I guess ~7qt will come out)
2. Refill with distilled water until full (~7 qt), run engine until hot. turn off engine.
3. *Repeat however many times will make you happy.*
4. Add 4.5qt of coolant (concentrate)**If you want, its ok to use 4qt = 1gal. You will be at ~44% coolant, but thats close enough.)
5. Fill up using distilled water.
Thanks all.
