Thanks for the help--
I tried to get the codes read at autozone, but since it is a 94, no luck. I tried a local saab shop, but since we reset the CEL, he said the codes would be gone til it came back on (not on yet). We've had a number of saabs and worked on them all, but this is our first NG (and probably our last)-- problem is we only have 14 days to fix this ourselves, so waiting for the CEL may not be an option. New plugs are no problem, but they are not that old (less than a year ~10k). Is there a way to check the 02 sensor before spending the money? I have been reading your postings about NOX and "backflow valves" and the P/N matched a part called the "air check valve". Are they the same? could the backflow valve be the problem? The vacuum lines to the "air switching valve" are rough, do you know what role the air switching valve plays in emissions? I checked out the site for your shop-- very nice, but how do you have time to run it and answer questions from the east coast too? Believe me, I'm not complaining, just amazed.
thanks again
mary
