recently bought a '98 900SE 5 spd. I've had 4 9K's, they are certainly great cars and my intension was to get another. Some observations on the NG900 as an alternative. I really like the light, nible feel, it's much more like my Classic Turbo CV. The 9K feels much softer and heavier. There are a lot more NG900's available for sale and you tend to get more bang for you buck. I bought my '98 for about what I was thinking about spending on a 95-96 9K--if I could have found one. The "square shouldered" look of the 9K is hard to fault but the "egg shape/round rump" of the NG is starting to grow on me. Finally, the NG is a newer design and just seems to feel newer--it seems to have fewer creaks and rattles.
