O2 Sensor Installed Wrong???

I just installed a universal 3-wire bosch o2 sensor on my 95 900SE. The three wires were white, white, and black. The three wires on the wiring harness with my old o2 sensor were white, white, and black. Does it matter which white wire I hook up to the white wire on the wiring harness? What would happen if I was wrong? The car works fine with the new o2 sensor, no CEL. Thanks.
