spark plug woes -what now? Posted by Jim Heidler [Email] (#3153) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jim Heidler) on Mon, 28 Aug 2006 13:10:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Own a 2000 9-3 2.0 turbo automatic. Bought the car with 50,000 miles and it now has just over 90,000 miles. I have been through DIC, throttle body, PCV, and other Saab issues and have seen my share of check engine lights. Finally got my refund from Saab on the DIC. After 100 mile interstate run at 70 mph - car started to miss on deceleration ramp. I found the number one plug with the electrode bent over touching the tip of the plug. It looks for all the world like something hit it. The plugs I have been running are NGK R PFR7H -10. They have been in the car for about 25,000 miles. I replaced the bent plug with an old copper NGK and have ordered a new set of copper NGK's. Right now sometimes the car runs ok, sometimes it about half misfires at idle. Engine is also making a ticking sound that wasn't there before. Is is time to dump it??? or will it be OK??? Anyone else seen this?
