A professional A/C pump can cost $4k or more. It's possible what you added could damage his system, but it's possible "not" too. I would just find another indy to do it. Maybe someone who specializes in A/C would do it. A good A/C shop has an electronic tester to check instead of using the dye/blacklight method.
First check the fill valves - put a little spit in the top of both and see if they leak. Check those first since they only cost a few bucks each and labor is about 5 minutes to change them (vac/fill required). After you eliminate those, it is leak hunt time.
Check the upper house/HP yourself, right under the radiator. That's the cause of 9/10 leaks on this BBS. Look for an oily coating at the end of the hose under the radiator at the driver's side. Hose is not too costly, maybe 3 hours of labor to install then vac/fill. If you are creative you might be able to do it in less time by removing fewer components from the engine.
If your indy does not know about the HP issue then he's not much of a Saab man.
