I purchased it at 50K miles and changed the oil every 3,000 with Castrol GTX Dino. The prior owner used Saab free oil changes and city driving with short trips sludged up the engine. At 104K I heard the balance chain when I reved up the motor and let it down while under the hood testing the new oil filter at an oil change after the system had fully pressured up. I had the full montie done on the engine. Head vated, valves done surfaced and new seals, piston rings (absolutely no cylinder wear, would not even hang your finger nail) main and rod bearings. Every timing gear, guide and chain in the engine, new oil pump and timing cover, hoses, pulleys and belts. Last weekend at 134K I removed the valve cover and retorqued the head due to a slight seaping of the head gasket at the front drivers side corner and I am still using Castrol GTX 10-30 Dino (I have always believed in this oil) The engine did not have one deposit under the valve cover or on the head. It was clean as a new head from the factory with fresh oil poured over it. The seap has stopped and I know this due to an intense cleaning with brake cleaner post retorque. I drive 23 miles one way to work and change the oil every 3,000 miles and it obvisousley works for my engine. I hope for 250K out of this car and my 11 year old starting to drive in it when the time comes as long as I can keep the road idiots from killing it and me before the car wears out.
