David, I don't think that having had a blown head gasket is a reason to not purchase a Saab. Matter of fact the 99 9-3 that I currently own (wifes car) I put a head gasket in about a year prior to buying the car. There are various degrees of head gasket failure also, from dripping oil & coolant out onto the ground all the way to blowing huge clouds of smoke from the tailpipe. The important things here are that the repair was done by a knowledgable repair shop, and also the previous owner was changing the oil regularly. I think you got a good deal, enjoy your new car!
