Got the car back on the road, now CEL codes. Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Fri, 28 Dec 2007 13:57:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Here's the short. I changed the engine out of my 95 900SE (2.0L turbo) for a '99 9-3 engine. The only difference was in the manifold temp sensor and throttle pos. sensor. The plugs for those bits didn't match the original wiring harness so I swapped those parts back from the original engine. Though the original engine was sludged up and bearings were shot, the CEL did not come on and the car ran. Now, though not always, the car sports the CEL with codes for Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, Temp. sensor, manifold and throttle pos. sensor. Of course I can sense a connection but there shouldn't be anything new with the system at this point. The car runs fine sometimes, bucks and hesitates under load and sometimes just off throttle at idle. I know this can point toward a need for a DIC replacement but thought I'd throw the situation out there and see what others think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
