wait, here's a thought... ...could it be that these codes are old? I know that when i first went to start the car I was unsuccessful. Looking to see what I'd possibly forgotten to hook up I noticed the Throttle position sensor plug not in place. That didn't solve my start problem as I had also forgotten to tie up the ground wires at the manifold. (sometimes I feel so stupid). The car was doing the hesitation/bucking thing and I'd read that trying the run the car with the MAP unplugged might narrow the problem to a MAP if the car runs better. Seemed crazy but I tried it...and then unplugged the MAP sensor at the intake just for kicks. Everything went stupidly rich and the car started to die. Why not...
Does't explain why the CEL was on before this episode, but maybe after three more times starting the car the CEL will clear itself and then go out? Just a thought.
