I have a stick shift 900SE 2.0 turbo. In fifth gear (I have not been able to reproduce in lower gears...) the engine yesterday started to lose engagement with the wheels - exactly as if the clutch was being depressed. A shudder, loss of speed, but no acceleration if you tried to punch the accelerator. Also the "check engine" light and battery lights came on. When I stopped and restarted all went well - check engine light still on but battery light off - and car went fine again. Except after 10 min in 5th...same thing again. Loss of speed which couldn't be regained by accelerating,
It ALMOST sounds like it was not actually engaged fully in 5th when I thought it was. The clutch is actually fairly new.
The "check engine" light is now gone off again so all clear on that front. But any ideas if this loss of drive power in 5th is related to a bad clutch or something?
