Have old one fixed, or get newer model?

I have a 95 900 SE V6 Automatic 5-door with 147k miles, and love it for many reasons, except sportiness. All maintenance on the car is up to date. I have all service records from new. The car has always been garaged and apart from a few scratches, minor dings, and the usual rock chips, it is in pretty good condition. Everything works, except the drivers side seat heater.
It got new head gaskets and front suspension bushings last year, and now needs at least a partially new exhaust and a complete brake job (including discs). It also needs an alignment. Haven't gotten an estimate, yet, but I would guess it'll be around $1500 or so.
OTOH, I have seen this advertised, about 50 miles from where I live:
http://www.activeautomarin.com/detail.cfm?V=2000%20Saab%209-3%20SE%20Hatchback%204%20Door%20&ID=211610
and wonder, if I should rather spend the money to upgrade.
I don't think I would get much for my old one, even though there is quite a bit of life left on it. Money is tight in the current economy, so it's not like I have excess spending funds, but at the same time I'd like to find the best solution to get me through these rough economic times.
If I do upgrade, what are the differences between model years 2000-2002? Anything crucial, or is the mileage more important? Most cars around here don't ever see a real winter.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!
