The o2 sensors indirectly affect boost. If an oxygen sensor is failing and causes a lean condition detonation will result. The APC will respond to this by increasing the duty cycle of the BPC solenoid until detonation stops. The boost pressure on this vehicle is good for the first two minutes of operation, before the oxygen sensors are hot enough to function which is a dead giveaway that an o2 sensor is the root of the problem. I've seen this happen first hand, and helped another member diagnose the exact same issue last year.
