I have just replaced my 149k mile 95 Saab 900 with a 2000 Saab 9-3 -- mainly because I wanted a newer car with some of the newer features.
The body of my old one is still amazingly good; so is the interior. It cleans-up very nice.
I can't say anything about the turbo engine, as my old one was a V6, but apart from timing belt and oil leak issues, it acts like those 149k miles were no big deal.
It needed a new radiator, new shocks, and new front suspension bushings. Motor mounts were done some time ago. If the car in question has that already, and the engine is good, it might not be a bad choice.
But again, I don't know enough about the turbo's longevity - my new-to-me, first turbo now has 48k miles on it and still acts as if it was brand new.
