The mileage isn't really an issue, the problems associated with these cars are not generally exacerbated by high mileage. The 9-3 did have some issues with sludge that can cause premature failure, and there are some quirks with Saabs in general. I will say my car has almost 140,000 miles and shows no signs of engine wear. My original suspension is still pretty solid, except I've noticed my strut mounts starting to knock a little. I don't think you would be picking up "another man's headache," but I also don't think you'll be buying the most reliable car you can get for the money. All-in-all, I'd say the car is worth buying assuming it checks out good.
