Remove the stock radio with DIN radio removal tools. You can use pieces of coat hanger, or nails, or other such items to put into the holes in the face of the radio to depress the catches. But getting the correct depth and diameter can be tricky.
A better choice are DIN radio removal tools, basically 2 "U" shaped pieces of metal that fit into the holes in the face of the radio and depress the catches so that the radio can be removed. They are available for $5 to $10 at Walmart, Best-Buy, most automobile parts stores, or any stereo store. Once the DIN radio removal tools are inserted, reach into the cassette opening for a hand hold, and pull the radio out of the dash.
