I wasn't implying that the ECU would lose the new programming anytime the battery was disconnected - just that it could be a possibility that exists. My point was, if the VIN and immobilizer code can be entered into the ECU via the Tech 2 system, the original values are probably still hidden in there somewhere and a random freak event could cause it to revert back.
