As far as I understand it, you should just need the pin. I believe it's a fairly easy fix. I, on the other hand, shattered my whole joint. I opted for a used one from Goldwing which my dealer installed (they actually recommended that I find a used one). The price wasn't too bad and they did need to recalibrate after.
