Used make-shift pressure bleeder, no improv. Well, after a trip to True Value, Home Depot and Advance Auto I was able to rig up a home built pressure bleeder. Used an 1 1/4" rubber coupling with a piece of PVC to attach to the reservoir. Attached a brass fitting to the PVC to that a length of 3/8" tube then my trusty hand pump. Worked like a charm except that I had to remove after each wheel to refill fluid.
The down side is there was absolutely no improvement at all. Removed almost 100cc from the fronts and 50cc from the back, no bubbles, yet the pedal still feels soft and sinks when held down. Doesn't seem to sink all the way to the floor though.
I didn't see any crud to speak of when removing the old fluid either from the reservoir or when bleeding.
I'm thinking it must be the M/C. Any thoughts? Also, anyone have input regarding a CarDone rebuilt M/C? Found a good price but don't want to be doing the job again in two weeks.
Thanks to all over the years, I've been a lurker here since the mid 90's and have almost always found an answer through a search, not so this time.
