Go online and check the value of your car on the three big price guides: KBB, Edmunds and NADA Guides. I've had two 9-5s totaled in three years, and the payout was very close to the NADA Guides price both times. Your mileage may vary, of course. Be sure that they have the model correct! My first 9-5 was an Arc, which was worth nearly $2,000 more than their first offer.
As for repairing it, unless you are handy, and can do most of the work yourself, it'll almost certainly cost you more than what the insurance check is. Body work isn't cheap, especially if paint is involved. Last January, someone backed into the door of my current 9-5. THAT was a $2,000 repair, and no other body parts were damaged! So, unless the car is particularly special to you, you're likely best off to use the check as a down payment on a replacement.
It'll likely take several weeks for the dust to settle between the three insurance carriers. Everyone will be questioned by all parties, and at some point, checks will be issued.
Oh - and if the airbags were lit, the car is certainly a total loss.
Best of luck with it. It'll take time, but it will eventuall all come to an end.
