From what I was told, it HAD to be a combination Saab and GM dealership facility, for them to do the work.
My local GM dealer does not, and never has sold/serviced Saabs. How would one claim that they are legally responsible for recall work on Saabs?
Unless something has changed in the last 11 years......Warranty/recall work performed at a GM dealership gets billed to corporate. Wrench spinners hate charging labor hours to do a warranty job. Payment for labor is not 'fronted' for the wrench by the dealership for these hours. The wrench gets paid for that time when corporate turns the money over. Would anyone like to wait 3 weeks for a paycheck for those hours..... better to pull a work order out of a different bin. I digress, but the point is, would a owner of a dealership tie up a wrench on something like this... for a possibility of not getting reimbursed.....who knows
Recalls are listed at the gov site. A call or letter to them might produce some positive results.
My one remaining recall issue is related to a fuel line. For me, the gas and time off from work necessary for an 11 hour (at legal speeds), road trip is not worth it. The dealership is in Brooklyn. The 11 hours might turn into 16+ depending on traffic.
Not going to carry the torch to pursue this one.
