I've seen brake fluid look black from pieces of deteriorating rubber hose contaminating it. But there would have to be a lot of debris to change the color of the coolant as there is a lot more of it compared to brake fluid. Definately check the condition of all the hoses.
I had a c900 with a bad/ clogged radiator but the fluid was more red/brown than black.
Euro uses URO brand hoses which I've used in the past. They're very good quality so you should have no troubles with them.
