oil consumption question after timing cover replacement Posted by Gregg [Email] (#677) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gregg) on Thu, 17 May 2012 11:30:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A couple of months ago I had a bolt fall from the power steering pump (pump eyelets had broke) and fall in between the camshaft pulley and the timing cover. The car was towed to my indie and he replaced the timing cover on the car and ever since I've had an oil consumption issue. If I drive normally then I am replacing a quart about every 2K or so. If I drive aggressively then I lose more. Any thought's as to how I might be able to attack this. Before the incident I burned no oil whatsoever.
I guess I could go back to the indie. I held out hope that it would abate itself after the work and was do to the work done on the cover. I have the classic oil out the tail pipe when I start the car or drive hard.
Thanks in advance for any help.
