I am happy to see a Saab forum, as I am a proud Saab owner. I am 27 yrs old and have owned a 1999 Saab 9-3 Convertible, the Yellow edition, for about 5 years. I love my car and would never imagine getting rid of it. Unfortunately my car has had many breakdowns over the past year. It has had several parts replaced due to 150K miles put on it. Most mechanics are hesitant or unwilling to work on my car. The few that do, about half of them give up eventually. I have put several thousands of dollars into fixing my car continuously, and have no regrets. But now my ignition is acting strange. It's as if a spring broke, and when turning the key to start the car, it is loose and stays in the 'rev' mode unless I manually turn it back to the left slightly. It has also been having issues with the windows, air, headlights and other electric parts stop working in the interior while driving! Then they will work again. I'm going crazy here and all the mechanics I talk to say they cannot fix this problem. They say that Saab went out of business and took the 'proprietary stuff' down with them... Is this true? Can anyone give me some advice on what I can do to fix this problem, or where I can go? I live in Fresno California, and desperately in need of advice. I refuse to sell my car (as it is apparently worth only under 1000 $. Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks
