I once went to look at a OG9-3 coupe for sale, and when I checked the dipstick, it was completely dry. The seller poured a few qts of oil in and we started it up and let it idle for a while before I drove it around the lot. When I commented about the lifter noise, the seller claimed that it was normal for a Saab until I drove the car over to my 9-5 and turned on my engine. The lifter ticking continued until I turned the engine off.
