Yes, those brackets are irreplaceable since they are bolted down and then machined to size for each head.
It sounds like you are at a place where I was many years ago when I started to tinker with cars and many times made things much worse than it should have been.
Luckily you have internet now with a wast amount of information to search from which was not available when I started so you might figure it out.
But here is another sobering fact. If the oil screen was so plugged that it has starved the engine for oil to the point where cam journal brackets has started to score, I don't see much hope for the rest of the engine including main and connecting rod bearing and balance shaft bearings.
When all is said and done and bolted up, you might have low oil pressure anyway due to those worn bearings.
So think about how much time you want to spend on this project compared to dropping a good used engine in.
