You are not alone. I have considered using a regular 9-3 transmission & driveshafts , since there are plenty of tuned 9-3s making Viggen-level power that aren't exploding parts. You can transplant guts between transmissions and roll your own, or there's the $3000+ Quaife 6-speed option we discussed below. None of these are ideal, but they're options. If I had long-term ownership aspirations, I'd probably pull the trigger on the Quaife option, but I'm not sure I want to own the car the 5+ years it'd take to feel the value there, and I don't think it'd really add to the resale. At least not in mine, an otherwise bone-stock convertible.
