That $2000 quote depends on a lot of factors, but is certainly in the ballpark.
220k is a lot for any car, and an especially rough aspect for a car with soft demand. Considering the need for a big dollar repair, and a car that is probably worth $1200-$1400 in average-for-the-miles condition, I wouldn't expect to get much more than parts car money for it... Unless perhaps the cosmetics are absolutely mint. A couple years ago I bought a pair of "needs expensive repairs" 9-3s for $500 and $750. Both had about 140k. One needed a clutch, the other an automatic transmission. I would think $750 is probably your absolute ceiling... and honestly I think that would be true of *any* run of the mill car in a similar situation.
