I noticed someting special for LED lamps in the store Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 6 Mar 2019 18:17:41 In Reply to: Anyone have success with LED headlights and fog lights?, ryane, Mon, 4 Mar 2019 11:57:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
What I saw for sale was a device (probably a large wattage ceramic resistor) which is needed on some cars to fool the electronics into not displaying a "Lamp Failure" message due to reduced lamp wattage after replacing the Halogen/Xenon lamps with LED.
Seemed counterproductive to me. Spend extra money for LED lamps, then purchase and hard-wire this additional component into the lighting circuitry, and your overall power draw is the same. And your overall light output is probably very similar due to legislated illumination/brightness limits.
